In the last two weeks hundreds of individuals have signed the declaration including Naomi Klein, Avi Lewis, Linda McQuaig, Mendelson Joe, Sarah Polley, Jack Layton, Shirley Douglas, Eric Peterson, Gordon Pinset and more...... Organizations that have signed the declaration include: Toronto and York Region Labour Council, the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, Front D'Action Populaire en Reamenagement Urbain (FRAPRU, Canadian Muslim Union, Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses, the Canadian Autoworkers, and more.....

Check it out!
Artist Karl Beveridge has assisted us with logo design and volunteers from the Telecommunications Workers Union are assisting with translation of the declaration into French. A video for Youtube is currently in production. Numerous nursing student groups have decided to actively take on this campaign as part of their community development and health promotion projects at Ryerson and other universities.
We have hired Andrew Mindszenthy on a part-time basis as our outreach coordinator and he will work closely with Beric German.

Contract opportunity for teachers with a passion for multicultural / equity education
Invitation to review support resources for the Culture and Community strand of the Social Studies Curriculum
- Are you a teacher of social studies in grades 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 or currently in a graduate program with a focus on teacher education?
- Would you say you are an “out of the box” thinker who is concerned about social justice and equity?
- Do you like to hunt down resources to support prescribed texts so that your students have a more critical view from a variety of perspectives?
This is an excellent opportunity to get paid for something you are probably already doing while contributing to the professional development and resource choices of other Alberta teachers. The bibliographies will be compiled into catalogue and online formats and linked to school district and Alberta Education resource websites. We then distribute catalogues during the course of our work with schools.
