Success Story
I wanted to share information with you about an Engineering company success story. We invited Magna IV Engineering to come to our Career/Information Day for Engineers on September 12. Two of their engineers who are partners in the company came to do the presentation in which they gave information about the company, answered questions, met with the students and gathered resumes. They spoke to primarily ETIP grads and a few others. They hired 5 ETIP grads! Mike Zukiwsky, the engineer I am in contact with, is very accommodating to these new employees and making the job work for them. I spoke with the ETIP students who were also very impressed with the company in the sense that Magna IV came to do the presentation, said they were hiring and followed up quickly on their word. A great employer and relationship with EMCN!!!

Dialogue on Democracy: Where Are The Women?
On Behalf of the Sheldon Chumir Foundation for Ethics in Leadership
RE: Dialogue on Democracy: Where Are The Women? NOVEMBER 6, 2007
We are writing to extend a special invitation to Dialogue on Democracy:
Where Are The Women?, taking place Tuesday, November 6th at the Royal Alberta Museum, 12845 - 102 Avenue, Edmonton, from 5:30 - 9 pm. This follows on a successful event in Calgary in February. A light dinner will be served cost is $20.00.
This event will challenge us to address the low number of women in elected office through a non-partisan, highly interactive and engaging forum for both men and women. There will be a political theatre production followed by provocative ideas for challenging the status quo, and then a one-hour, semi-structured discussion in small groups, with a facilitator. Discussion topics are: 'no taxation without representation', an all-women's party, and gender quotas.
See attached for more details. Hope to see you on November 6, 2007.

Christian, Jewish and Muslim Lay Women in Dialogue
Have you wondered why it is that despite our shared inheritance through Abraham and Sarah and Hagar, Christians, Jews and Muslims are so often at odds with each other? Have you felt frustrated that the most conservative version of each tradition is perceived as the only interpretation? Do you dream of a time when we can learn to work together for peace? On October 17, 24, and November 7th women from each of the Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities will facilitate a series of presentations exploring these questions.
The series will conclude on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 7 p.m. with a panel discussion including all presenters.
Tickets are $15 for each evening or $50 for the 4 evening package. Students are $10 for each evening or $35 for the package. Contact Lynn by e-mail at elliotlynn@telus.net or phone 780-428-6299 to reserve your seats.
