Volunteers

From now on, we will be collecting volunteer hours for our records on a monthly basis. Please help us hit this target by sending your program volunteer time records by the end of each month.

For the purpose of closing our end-of-year reporting (April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009), we now need your program's volunteer hours for January, February and/or March of this year. Please send these records as soon as possible.

Volunteers include anybody who helped for free - even in a one-time-only event.

As you send in your hours, please include the complete name of each volunteer who helped in any of your program activities during this reporting period, even if they were not registered with Volunteer Services.

As agency programs that use volunteers expand, with volunteer activities happening at multiple locations and various times, including evenings and weekends, it is becoming more difficult for Volunteer Services to accurately collect time records from individual volunteers. A more practical and reliable way is therefore to track the hours through the program and service that uses them.

Individual programs are free to send in their volunteer time records by whichever way works for them, either through the program manager (ideally, as some programs have been doing), a designated program staff member or volunteer as a focal point.

Please forward your program volunteer time records to Phillip Deng at pdeng@emcn.ab.ca.

Thank you for your assistance.
