We will be gathering ideas to help us in the development of a new EMCN website. Come and share your suggestions, recommend other websites for us to look at, or let us know what you do or do not like about the current website.

Information Session about SHAW
Join a Shaw representative on Thursday, August 30 at 12:00 noon in room #2-4 to learn more about the services they offer and how it can be beneficial to the people we work with.
SHAW now has reps who can process transactions and place, so that the client will only have to speak with one person to fully set up and organize their service and choose their plans for telephone, internet and television.
Councillor Michael Phair's Retirement

Second Annual 2007 SAGE Awards
Honouring the Contribution of Seniors!

The Seniors Association of Greater Edmonton (SAGE) is a multi-service agency that has provided services to older people in Edmonton and area since 1970. The mission of SAGE is to enhance the quality of life of older people through service, advocacy, innovation/volunteerism.
First awarded in 2006, the SAGE Awards Gala was the first Canadian event of its kind to recognize the contributions of seniors at the municipal level. In 2007, nine awards will be presented to recognize/celebrate outstanding seniors. The wisdom, vision, courage & leadership that seniors bring to our community serves to inspire all of us & make Edmonton a better place.
Nominations will be accepted until Sept., 15, 2007 in the following categories: Arts & Culture, Health, Education, Public Service, Science & Technology, Business Entrepreneurship, Social Justice & Peace, Sport & Leisure, and Community Building.
The Awards will be presented at a Gala to be held November 14, 2007 at The Sutton Place Hotel. Tickets for this event are $100.00. Information regarding nominations, tickets and corporate sponsorship may be obtained by contacting:

Seniors Poetry Night
The Multicultural Handicrafts Training and Friendship Society is planning a Seniors Poetry Night in early December. Seniors from other centres and from the community are invited to recite a poem.
